Christopher‘s artistic career began in London with his first solo show at The Book Club, Shoreditch, in 2012. He gained a BA in Graphic Design at London’s esteemed Central Saint Martins College, during which time he received a certificate of special achievement, won the 2010 BarTur photography award, and the degree show CAN Audience Award. Following graduation Chris returned to his hometown Berlin, Germany.
In Germany, he co-founded a screenprinting studio in Neukölln and gained experience working with theatres and freelancing for design agencies such as ad modum GmbH. However, he was drawn back to his personal artistic practice. As Christopher grew as an artist he developed extensive oil painting skills, immersing himself in the traditions of Realism and honing a distinctive figurative painting style. His work has been exhibited at art fairs such as ARTMUC, Stroke Art Fair, Kunstmesse Regensburg and KUBO-SHOW in Germany and BCN Art Fair in Barcelona. He has also worked on a number of successful collaborations. Following group shows with galleries including Affenfaust Gallery in Hamburg, Galerie Cornelia Walter and the Brick Lane Gallery; as well as four solo shows in Berlin, Munich and London, his work received press recognition, featuring in the prominent German daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, and leading culture magazine VICE (amongst others).
Christopher is currently developing a new body of work inspired by recent political developments in relation to artistic and philosophical movements and theories from the beginning of the twentieth century.
